I know many folks are angry at the way our government seems to be going at the moment. We can get angry and withdraw and not vote, or we can get angry and rise up and do something about it. I want us to do something about it, we can do better.
St. Francis, said it so well in describing what my philosophy for running for congress looks like. “Lord, make me an instrument of your peace. Where there is hatred, let me sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; and where there is sadness, joy.”
Many of the people running for elected office are a lot like those who are already in office. We would be simply changing one person for another.
But if you really want to do something better, you should consider a non-politician. You should consider someone who will really represent you from a position of really being closer to understanding you, someone who has experienced life in some of the ways you have.
As a pastor, I’ve spent 40 years helping people. And as Abraham Lincoln said so eloquently at Gettysburg, we should always have a government that is “of the people, by the people, and for the people.” I am running because your representative should understand what you are going through, and I have been with people in every imaginable situation, comforting, encouraging, celebrating, guiding, repairing and giving insight to resolve personal issues. So I urge you to remember that if we want to get back to Lincoln’s kind of government, then vote for me, we can do better.
Please think about this and if you really want some hope in our government, please consider voting for me. Republican Candidate for Maryland 8th District.
